The producer
O-MED - Ácula (Granada, Spagna)
Why we chose them
To say that the company O-Med specializes in the production of extra virgin olive oil is limiting. It is in fact first of all a small family-run oil mill in
Granada, more precisely in the village of Ácula, where there is also the family farm, left with father Juan de Dios and now run entirely by his sons
Paula and Juande, with great innovative ideas and a vocation for excellence. Thanks to the climate of the region and the harvest at the optimal
moment of veraison of the olive O-Med obtains productions of indisputable quality of the varieties Arbequina and Picual. Strong is the attention to
integrated and environmentally friendly farming practices: underground drip irrigation, weather stations and humidity sensors, allow you to reduce
water consumption, while the kernels of olives, waste processing, are used to produce energy. The olives are milled within three hours of
harvesting, the oil is cold extracted at a temperature not exceeding 20ºC and stored with an innovative system to avoid oxidation.
